Born in 1971, in France, Maya Burman, is an architect by training but turned to painting as she found the former too restrictive. The daughter of famous Indian painter, Sakti Burman, Maya works mainly in pen and ink and watercolour. Her paintings are delicate and marked by a distinct element of fantasy. She received the Award of the Salon d’Automne Paris in 2000 and the Award of Watercolours Painting Section Salon de Colombes in 2001. Maya lives and works in France.
