Born in 1932 in Bawal, Haryana, Om Prakash Sharma is a modernist painter. He completed his Masters in Fine Arts from Columbia University in 1966. Sharma is known for his abstract paintings having experimented with the Neo-Tantric art movement of the 1960s. Sharma has participated in several solo exhibitions across India. He received a national award for painting from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1969. Sharma passed away in 2019.
