ART PILGRIM, in collaboration with the Society of Contemporary Artists – Kolkata, brings together a collection of paintings and sculptures which is nothing short of cultural poetry. Formed in 1960, SCA, Kolkata counts among its members stalwarts such as Shyamal Dutta Ray, Somnath Hore, Sunil Das, Suhas Roy, Ganesh Haloi, Ganesh Pyne, Bikash Bhattacharjee, Dharmanarayan Dasgupta, Manik Talukdar and more. Together with the second and third generation of members, they have been able to create a Society with a discreet, satisfying mélange of diverse angles and distinctive narrative styles. These are works not to be locked away for posterity, they are spaces for us to enter and fathom unfathomable depths.
